Case Study
Project: Manchester EV Charging Oasis
Location: Reliance Street, Manchester
Client: Be.EV
Network operator: ENWL/UKPD
Timescale: Three months
CLM delivery team: Net Zero
Taking the site of a disused petrol station, Charge Point Operator Be.EV asked us to secure its path to connection for Manchester’s first EV charging oasis.
Our brief
Having already delivered more than 30 connection agreements for Be.EV, we’re very much part of its mission to make public EV charging simple, reliable and available to everyone. For this landmark project, we were asked to secure landrights agreements for the IDNO substation and DNO HV cable route needed for this new Charging Oasis.
Challenges
Because Be.EV is a longstanding client, we have a tried and tested process in place, with key documents and terms already agreed. The land was also secured through lease by Be.EV. One potential challenge was however identified early on by our Net Zero team, where the original offsite route would have involved a section of third party land. The ICP working on this project were able to design around this, avoiding the need for further consents.
Delivery
Weekly calls were held between our Net Zero team and Be.EV to ensure everyone was kept fully up to speed on this project, as well as other portfolio sites.
Connection agreements were in place within the timescales requested by Be.EV, and we’re now looking forward to see this project up and running.
