Case Study

Project: Arnold Clark Portfolio – EV Chargers
Location: Nationwide
Client: Aurora Utilities
Network operator: Aurora Utilities
Timescale: Ongoing
CLM delivery team: IDNO Introduction

Helping a new IDNO get to grips with the early stages of set up is one of our areas of specialism, but Aurora also needed our services for a new portfolio client, operating across multiple sites.

Our brief
Arnold Clark is one the largest car dealerships in Europe and has been selling new and used cars for more than 75 years. Already established with a network of more than 200 dealerships across the UK, the Company is now equipping its sites with electric vehicle charging (EVC) facilities.

Having secured the portfolio contract for the new EVC networks, Aurora called on our team to help manage lease agreements across a number of different DNOs.

Challenges
The key to this project has been about the careful management of multiple sites, concerning multiple DNOs. Since starting work we’ve agreed precedent lease agreements with UKPN, ENWL, NGED and NPG and have a further 15 matters live. We’re also working to flag up who the associated third parties are in each case, enabling the landowners’ solicitor for each site to start conversations as early as possible.

Delivery
This contract was a considerable opportunity for any IDNO, never mind one which was brand new. We knew Aurora had the required expertise, but needed the counsel of our leadership team to ensure nothing was overlooked.

Our team continue to support this project by attending weekly all-party calls with Aurora, the associated solicitors, the landowners’ solicitors and ICPs. Weekly reports are issued following to ensure everyone is kept up to date.
