CLM Director’s Statement 2023
DIRECTOR’S STATEMENT 2023
As we close the chapter on 2022 and welcome a new year, it seems the perfect time to recap on CLM’s activities over a transformative year, whilst looking forward to what 2023 brings.
2022
Last year saw huge growth in the EV sector and the delivery of consents for charging hubs across the UK. CLM is honoured to be part of the electric highways innovation and extremely happy to support the journey of our first EV client, GRIDSERVE. GRIDSERVE recognise the need for meaningful and lasting change and in 2017 started generating sustainable energy for critical infrastructure. Whilst GRIDSERVE aim to ‘move the needle on climate change’ to ‘leave this world a better place than we found it’, CLM take pride in supporting the mission of ‘innovating the solutions needed to deliver a paradigm shift’.
Once again, we referred to our robust and evolving business strategy and concentrated on business capability, delivering continuous improvement, and creating sustainable success. This clear and collective vision has continued to ensure we are all working with the same shared objectives in mind and achieving outstanding results for our clients.
CLM had the privilege of attending the EV World Congress held in London in October, with the aim to inspire, educate and connect those within the industry. We had the pleasure of hosting a CLM stand, alongside Envevo, eSmart Networks and Sinewave. As we have never actively marketed our services in the sector, we felt that coming out of Covid, it was a great opportunity to meet our clients and see people face to face. As the only Land Rights company to attend, it was hugely rewarding to be recognised for making a positive impact for our clients, both new and existing.
We have enjoyed a variety of recognition over the last 12 months, including being finalists at the first ‘Great British Wellbeing in the Workplace Awards’ held in March as well as for The DiversitEV Award at The Evies in October. In November, I was honoured to be awarded ‘Young Entrepreneur of the Year’ at the Peterborough Telegraph Business Awards, and CLM being presented as ‘Employer of the Year’. These moments are hugely appreciated by us all at CLM and encourage us to set our standards high and deliver our very best to all those we work with.
Our team have achieved so much in 2022. It has been a ground-breaking year in many aspects for CLM, not only our record completion total, turnaround time, number of new clients and collaborations in new industry sectors; but we have adapted and grown immeasurably in terms of mindset, experience, and sector specialism.
We are incredibly proud of our notable completions including:
- The upgrade of Manchester City Football Club’s supply
- Securing a low compensation deal for a new data centre in Central London
- Land Rights for a high power 12 bay charging hub in Exeter
- Securing Land Rights for SERGO’s new 5 million sq ft logistics park in Northampton
Based in Ketton, we have maintained the same, much loved premises ensuring consistency for the team and clients who to visit us throughout the year for training or team building days. Our head office is also where we carry out our extensive internal training programme.
Business growth has also been seen in the on boarding of a Senior Project Coordinator, 2 Project Coordinators and 2 Project Coordinator Administrators. This scalable business model shows CLM’s commitment to the individuals who all make more than a significant difference to CLM’s success. We work continuously to recruit the very best people to join our award-winning business and it is a privilege to watch their professional growth, highlights, and successes.
Our team’s commitment to wellbeing is evident in how each member champions our 5 company core values: Capabilities, Accountability, Integrity, Respect and Adaptability. Introducing the 4-day week plus a rest day, meant the CLM team needed to embrace every core value to ensure the seamless delivery of projects and communication. Adapting the team’s way of working whilst maintaining our exemplary client service level was pivotal to us and something we achieved with relative ease.
2023
As we embark on a fresh new year with exciting projects to greet us, we look forward to working closely with all stakeholders. We are fortunate enough to work with clients who are committed to providing their customers with the highest level of service. Our ethos echoes that and we work intrinsically with our clients ensuring our capabilities are directly in line with their customer service standards. We continue our company promise of reducing project risk from unknown third parties, providing a professional approach, ensuring clients are aware of risks as well as cost certainty.
Over the past year CLM demonstrated over and over again our strengths as an organisation and made clear that when it comes to Land Rights, we really do deliver the difference. The work we are doing is more relevant than ever today. The service we provide is an integral part of simplifying Land Rights. Our customers rely on our integrity to keep them informed and connected. 2023 is set to be another exciting year for CLM. We look forward to working on our variety of projects delivering the best service and outstanding customer experience.
Wishing you a very prosperous new year from us all at CLM.
