CLM was founded by Director Laura Wilson. During her early career she recognised a gap in the market for a specialist landrights service and carved out a role for herself working as a New Connections Manager for a national firm of Chartered Surveyors. In this role she was able to immerse herself in the landrights industry, learning as she went, before taking the leap to open her own business.
In 2014, with the support of her husband Hamish, Laura founded CLM and it now employs more than 20 staff at its offices in the village of Ketton in rural Rutland. Over the past 10 years Laura has worked with her team to build a business which does two things: Invests heavily in the wellbeing and development of her team; and provides a unique, specialist approach to delivering the landrights process for its clients.
We’re proud of our people – in fact we choose who we employ based on work ethic and compatibility with the rest of our team. We’re collaborative and support each other, so when we’re faced with complex cases, we work together to find the best solution for our clients.
We firmly believe every person at CLM has a role to play in our success and this is fundamental how our leadership team works:

Employee wellbeing is one of the strongest areas of our culture at CLM. We introduced our wellbeing strategy in 2021, focussing on four pillars: Emotional; Physical; Social; Financial – and these are tied together with an overarching vision: We strive to build a thriving culture where the CLM team is healthy, fuelled and inspired to be their best each day.
Across the Company, every one of our team members plays an active role in supporting our wellbeing initiatives, which includes everything from First Aid training to celebrating Employee Appreciation Day.
“Wellbeing is integrated into our office culture, with a variety of wellness days and team activities that help us bond while promoting mental health. Whether it’s enjoying a group walk, gathering for lunch, or getting creative with wreath making and candle painting, these moments bring us together and remind us of the importance of balance in life. Our pillars of wellbeing truly guide us in every area of our lives, creating an environment where we feel cared for, connected, and able to thrive both personally and professionally.”
